According to the "Statistical Bulletin of the People's Republic of China on the 2008" by National Bureau of Statistics of China on February 26, 2009: at the end of 2008, China has a population of 132802 million, a net increase of 6.73 million than that at the end of 2007. There are 16.08 million births in 2008, a crude birth rate of 12.14 per thousand , and 9.35 million deaths, a crude death rate of 7.06 per thousand. The natural growth rate was 5.08 per thousand. The sex ratio at birth was 120.56.
